Export and Import of Test Suites

Exporting and Importing Test Suites for any project, users can import and export the structure of multiple test suites in Excel, JSON, and Git format. For empty projects, the exported test suite can be imported across the database. Note: To avoid duplicate/reuse import test suites, a string_id will be appended to all names of test suites, scenarios, screens, and test cases.

Exporting Test Suites

Avo Assure enables users to export Test Suites in various formats. This section explains the exporting process for Test Suites in different forms.

Copy To Project

Avo Assure enables the users to copy the Test Suites to different projects. Note: It is applicable only for the Empty Project.

  1. The user has to navigate to the Avo Assure home screen.

  2. From the All Projects section, the user has to select the Project that needs to be exported.

  3. The user has to click the Design Studio button, and the Design Studio window will be displayed.

  4. The user has to select the required Test Suites.

  5. The user has to click the Export button, and the Export Test Suite window will be displayed.

  6. The user has to select the Copy To Project radio button.

  7. The user has to select the Project from the Select Project drop-down. Note: Copy To Project is applicable only for the empty project.

  8. The user has to click the Export Project button, and the data will be exported successfully.

Structure Only - Excel (.xls .xlsx) format

  1. The user has to navigate to the Avo Assure home screen.

  2. From the All Projects section, the user has to select the Project that needs to be exported.

  3. The user has to click the Design Studio button, and the Design Studio window will be displayed.

  4. The user has to select the required Test Suites.

  5. The user has to click the Export button, and the Export Test Suite window will be displayed.

  6. The user has to select the Export To File radio button.

  7. The user has to select the Structure Only - Excel (.xls, .xlsx) export format from the Select Export Format drop-down.

  8. The user has to click the Export button, and the data will be exported successfully. Note: The exported .xls or .xlsx format file will be available in the systems downloads folder.

  2. From the All Projects section, the user has to select the Project that needs to be exported.

  3. The user has to click the Design Studio button, and the Design Studio window will be displayed.

  4. The user has to select the required Test Suites.

  5. The user has to click the Export button, and the Export Test Suite window will be displayed.

  6. The user has to select the Export To File radio button.

  7. The user has to select the Structure Only - JSON (.json) export format from the Select Export Format drop-down.

  8. The user has to click the Export button, and the data will be exported successfully. Note: The exported .json format file will be available in the systems downloads folder.

Git format

Prerequisite

  • Git configuration is required for exporting and importing the project refer to the section Git Configuration.

  • Projects that need to import and export their Git configurations should be configured accordingly.

  • Git import is applicable only for the empty project.

  1. The user has to navigate to the Avo Assure home screen.

  2. From the All Projects section, the user has to select the Project that needs to be exported.

  3. The user has to click the Design Studio button, and the Design Studio window will be displayed.

  4. The user has to select the required Test Suites.

  5. The user has to click the Export button, and the Export Test Suite window will be displayed.

  6. The user has to select the Export To File radio button.

  7. The user has to select the Git export format from the Select Export Format drop-down.

  8. The user has to enter the version in the Version field.

  9. The user has to Enter the comment in the Commit Message field and click the Export button.

  10. The user must wait a few minutes while exporting to GIT. Once exported, a toast message will be displayed as Git data exported successfully.

Complete Module (.zip) format

  1. The user has to navigate to the Avo Assure home screen.

  2. From the All Projects section, the user has to select the Project that needs to be exported.

  3. The user has to click the Design Studio button, and the Design Studio window will be displayed.

  4. The user has to select the required Test Suites.

  5. The user has to click the Export button, and the Export Test Suite window will be displayed.

  6. The user has to select the Export To File radio button.

  7. The user has to select the Complete Test Suite(s) (.zip) export format from the Select Export Format drop-down.

  8. The user has to click the Export button. Note: The export file is being prepared. Kindly wait for a few minutes.

  9. Once the exported file is ready. The user has to click the Export button for link details.

  10. To get the link, the user has to click the Export button.

  11. To download the exported file, the user has to click the link. Note: The exported .zip format file will be available in the systems downloads folder.

Importing Test Suites

Avo Assure enables users to import test Suites in various formats. This section provides an explanation of the importing process for test suites in different formats.

Single Test suite Structure only - Excel (.xls,.xlsx)

  1. The user has to navigate to the Avo Assure home screen.

  2. From the All Projects section, the user has to select the Project into which the test suite has to be exported.

  3. The user has to click the Design Studio button, and the Design Studio window will be displayed.

  4. The user has to click the 'Import Test Suites' icon.

  5. The user has to select the Single Module Structure only - Excel (.xls,.xlsx) import format from the Select Import Format drop-down.

  6. The user has to upload the .xls or .xlsx format file in the Upload File box.

  7. The user has to select the project from the Select Project drop-down.

  8. The user has to select the sheet from the Select Sheet drop-down.

  9. The user has to click the Import button, and the data will be imported successfully.

Multi Test suite Structure only - Excel (.xls,.xlsx)

  1. The user has to navigate to the Avo Assure home screen.

  2. From the All Projects section, the user has to select the Project into which the test suite has to be exported.

  3. The user has to click the Design Studio button, and the Design Studio window will be displayed.

  5. The user has to select the Multi Module Structure only - Excel (.xls,.xlsx) import format from the Select Import Format drop-down.

  6. The user has to upload the .xls or .xlsx format file in the Upload File box.

  7. The user has to select the project from the Select Project drop-down.

  8. The user has to select the sheet from the Select Sheet drop-down.

  9. The user has to click the Import button, and the data will be imported successfully.

  4. The user has to click the 'Import Test Suites' icon.

  5. The user has to select the Complete Test Suite(S) (.zip) import format from the Select Import Format drop-down.

  6. The user has to select the project from the Select Project drop-down.

  7. The user has to upload the .zip format file in the Upload File box.

  8. The user has to click the Import button, and the data will be imported successfully.
