3. Import and Export Mindmap in Excel, JSON, and Complete Module(s) Format

Why was this developed?

In the previous version of Avo Assure, users could not export and import the structure of multiple modules in Excel or JSON format. The complete module that was exported could not be imported across databases.

How does it work?

Importing and exporting mindmaps for any project, users can import and export the structure of multiple modules in Excel and JSON format. For empty projects, the exported module can be imported across the database. Note: To avoid duplicate/reuse import mindmaps, a string_id will be appended to all names of modules, scenarios, screens, and test cases.

Import and Export Mindmap in JSON Format

Exporting Mindmap

1. The user has to log in to Avo Assure with valid credentials.

2. The user has to click the Design button, and the design window will be displayed.

3. The user has to select the required Modules and click the Export button. The Export Mindmap window will be displayed.

4. The user has to select the Export To File radio button.

5. To export the mindmap, the user has to select the export format as Structure only - JSON (.json) format. Note: The exported .json format file will be available in the systems downloads folder.

6. The user has to click the Export button, and the data will be exported successfully.

Importing Mindmap

1. To import the mindmap, the user has to select the required project.

2. The user has to click the Design button, and the design window will be displayed.

3. The user has to click the Import-Module button, and the Import-Modules window will be displayed.

4. To import the mindmap, the user has to select the import format as Structure only - JSON (.json) format.

5. The user has to upload the .json format file in the Upload File box.

6. The user has to select the required project from the Select Project drop-down.

7. The user has to click the Import button, and the data will be imported successfully.

8. The user has to click the Save button.

6. The user has to select the required project from the Select Project drop-down.

7. The user has to select from the Select Sheet drop-down.

8. The user has to click the Import button, and the data will be imported successfully.

9. The user has to click the Save button.

Exporting Mindmap

1. The user has to click the Design button, and the design window will be displayed.

2. The user has to select the required Modules and click the Export button. The Export Mindmap window will be displayed.

3. The user has to select the Export To File radio button.

4. To export the mindmap, the user has to select the export format as Complete Module (.zip) format.

5. The user has to click the Export button. Note: The export file is being prepared. Kindly wait for a few minutes.

6. Once the exported file is ready. The user has to click the Export button for link details.

7. To get the link, the user has to click the Export button.

8. To download the exported file, the user has to click the link. Note: The exported .zip format file will be available in the systems downloads folder.

Importing Mindmap

1. To import the mindmap, the user has to select the required project. Note: The selected project should be empty.

2. The user has to click the Design button, and the design window will be displayed.

3. The user has to click the Import-Module button, and the Import-Modules window will be displayed.

4. To import the mindmap, the user has to select the import format as Complete Module (.zip) format.

5. The user has to select the required project from the Select Project drop-down.

6. The user has to upload the .zip format file in the Upload File box.

7. The user has to click the Import button, and the data will be imported successfully.

8. The user has to click the Save button.

How can I get this?

If the user upgrades to the latest version of Avo Assure to 23.1.2, this feature will be available automatically.
