Now that you know the prerequisites, let's learn the steps to generate Jira API token.

Jira API Token Generation

The step-by-step process to generate a Jira API Token are:

1. Navigate to the Jira website https://mnb.atlassian.net and login by entering valid username and password

2. Click the profile icon and click Manage account

You will be navigated to the Manage account window.

3. Click the Security tab and then click the Create and manage API tokens link

You will be navigated to the API Tokens window.

4. Click the Create API Token button

A Create an API Token pop up window will appear.

5. Enter a name for the API Token in the Label textbox and click the Create button

You will get Your new API token for Jira.

6. Copy the API Token and save it for later use
