Installment requirement for EPR - Oracle and SAP

Follow the outlined installation requirements specific to ERP systems when working with Avo Assure. Ensure that your ERP setup meets all the necessary criteria to facilitate a smooth and efficient installation process. But first let's understand the EPR applications supported in Avo Assure. There are two types of ERP Applications supported in Avo Assure:

  • Oracle E-Business Suit (OEBS): Oracle E-Business Suite adapts to current business models, enhances productivity, and caters to modern mobile users. With a legacy of over 30 years of innovation, it continues to introduce new functionalities and augment existing features, leveraging Oracle Cloud benefits.

  • SAP: Organizations worldwide rely on SAP ERP to integrate essential business processes into a unified system. SAP offers flexible, user-friendly cloud ERP applications tailored to business's needs. SAP enables users to customize processes and choose between public or private cloud options.


Oracle E-Business Suit (OEBS)

1. Ensure that JRE and JDK (32bit & 64bit) 8 or above is installed in your system.

  1. Check the Enable Java Access Bridge checkbox is checked in the following places:

  • Control Panel >> Ease of Access >> Ease of Access Centre >> Use the computer without a display

  • Control Panel >> Ease of Access >> Ease of Access Centre >> Make the computer easier to see

Control Panel >> Ease of Access >> Ease of Access Centre >> Make it easier to focus on tasks

  1. Ensure the host entries of the Oracle application are added to the host file (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts).

Note: Oracle forms under test should always be at the top during Object Identification, Debug, and Execution.


SAP

SAP GUI scripting should be enabled.

System Display Settings:-

The machine's Scale and Layout should be 100%. Steps to do so:

  1. Search the Settings App in the search field from the taskbar.

  2. Click the System Settings icon.

  3. Navigate to the Display page and click the Scale and Layout dropdown, in System Settings.

  4. Select the 100% scale and layout.

Done!

On the SAP Server Side:-

  1. Navigate to Connections -> Add New Entry -> User Specified System in the SAP Logon 760 window. Enter the following details in System Connection Parameters

    • Description

    • Application Server

    • Instance Number

    • System ID

  2. Click on Next < Next < Log On.

  3. Log in to the SAP server with his SAP Credentials.

  4. Enter the transaction RZ11 in the search box.

  5. Enter the sapgui/user_scripting in the Parameter Name in the dialogue box that appears on the screen and click the Display button.

Note: If Parameter Name is unknown appears in the status bar, it indicates that you are missing the current support package. Check your installed packages.

  1. Click on the Change value button when a window will open where you will be able to see Metadata for Parameter sapgui/user_scripting.

  2. Change the value of sapgui/user_scripting to TRUE and click the Save icon.

Done!

On the SAP Client Side:-

The Avo Assure test user has to perform the below-mentioned steps to maintain the necessary screen level compatibility for GUI-based SAP applications like SAP ECC and SAP HANA.

  1. Open the SAP Instance and click the Customize Local Layout (ALT+F12) icon.

  2. Click the Options button.

  3. Goto to Visual Design > Theme Preview/ Setting select SAP Signature Theme from the dropdown and check the Use Corbu style icons.

  4. Navigate to Interaction Design > Keyboard Settings and check the Activate accelerator keys.

  5. Move to Interaction Design > Visualization2 and select the radio button Show Enhanced Search automatically.

  6. Click Interaction Design > Notifications and select No tooltip from the Tooltip Delay drop-down.

  7. Navigate to Accessibility & Scripting > Accessibility and check the Use accessibility mode.

  8. Select to Accessibility & Scripting > Scripting and check the Enable scripting. Note:

    • Uncheck "Notify when a script attaches to SAP GUI" (if checked).

    • Uncheck "Notify when a script opens a connection" (if checked).

  9. Click the OK and Apply buttons.
