Element Identification - WEB Application

Element Identification is the process of identifying the unique properties of elements from the AUT. 

The user can identify elements using the below methods. 

  1. Click and Add

  2. Full Page Element Identification

  3. IRIS (Image Recognition in Scraping)

Click and Add Elements

This feature is used to identify specific elements on a web page using any of the supported browsers.

  1. The user has to navigate to the Avo Assure home screen.

  2. The user has to select the Web Application project from the project list.

  3. The user has to click the Design Studio button, and the Design Studio screen will be displayed.

  4. The user has to click the Capture Elements button, and the Capture Elements window will be displayed.

  5. The user has to click the Capture Elements button, and the Capture dialog box will be displayed.

  6. The user has to select the required browser from the Browser's List.

  7. The user has to click the Capture button. The Web Element Identification dialog box will be displayed.

  8. The user has to enter the URL in the URL box and click the Go button. The Avo Assure Client will navigate to the entered URL.

  9. The user has to click the Start button and capture the required elements. Note: During scraping via the Click and Add method, the hovered-upon object is highlighted with a yellow and red border when hovering over objects in the Application Under Test (AUT). This highlighting helps the user identify the object that will be scraped upon clicking.

  10. Once the capture element is done, the user has to click the Stop button.

  11. The Capture Elements window will display all the captured elements.

  12. The user has to click the Save button to save all the captured elements. Note: Unsaved elements will be indicated with highlighted color. 

  13. The system will display a toast message as Scraped data saved successfully.

Capture an Entire WEB Page

This feature is used to identify all the elements on the web page or all elements of a particular element type using any of the supported browsers.

  1. To get the screen context menu, the user has to click the Screen icon.

  2. The user has to click the Capture Elements button, and the Capture Elements window will be displayed.

  3. The user has to click the Capture Elements button, and the Capture dialog box will be displayed.

  4. The user has to select the required browser from the Browser's List.

  5. The user has to click the Capture button, and the Web Element Identification dialog box will be displayed.

  6. The user has to enter the URL in the URL box and click the Go button. The Avo Assure Client will navigate to the entered URL.

  7. The user has to select Full from the Capture Type drop-down and click the Capture button.

  8. The Capture Elements window will display all the captured elements.

  9. The user has to click the Save button to save all the captured elements. Note: Unsaved elements will be indicated with highlighted color. 

  10. The system will display a toast message as Scraped data saved successfully.
