# Select by value

This is a pre-built Action located under the Table captured from the AUT Element, instructs the Avo Assure to select the options based on the value provided in the input for a dropdown/list, which is in the table cell, and save the result in a dynamic variable.

### **Syntax**

**Input Value:**`<Row>;<Col>;<Object Type>;<Index>;<Input Value>`

| <p>\<Row></p><p>(Required)</p>         | Row number of the specified table cell                |
| <p>\<Col></p><p>(Required)</p>         | Column number of the specified table cell             |
| <p>\<Object Type></p><p>(Required)</p> | Type of object inside the cell (e.g., dropdown, list) |
| <p>\<Index></p><p>(Required)</p>       | Element index of the object within the cell           |
| <p>\<Input Value></p><p>(Required)</p> | Value to be selected from the dropdown/list           |

**Output Value**

**Example**

**Selects a specific value from a dropdown or list box located within a specified table cell.**

The **Select by Value** action takes the input from the Input Value column (e.g., **4;2;dropdown;1;Shipped**) and selects the matching value from the dropdown element located in the given table cell. The result is stored in the **{Status}** variable, with possible values:

* **True** – if the value is selected successfully
* **False** – if the selection fails or an error occurs
