# Set parameter value

This is a pre-built action located under the **WebService Element**. The functionality of this action in Avo Assure is to assign a value to a previously defined parameter in the WebService request.

### Syntax

**Input Value:** `<param value>`

**Example**

**Sets the Value for a Defined Parameter in a Web Service Request**

The **Set parameter value** action takes the value from the Input Value column **(e.g., John)** and assigns it to a previously defined parameter in the WebService request. This action typically works to dynamically update values before execution.
