Get Selected Value from Dropdown
This is pre-built Action located under the @Custom Element. The functionality of this action in Avo Assure to retrieve the selected value from the dropdown or list specified in the input and store the result in the dynamic variable.
Syntax:
Input Value: <ObjectType>;<VisibleText(optional)>;<Index>;<abs(optional)>
<ObjectType> (Required)
Specify the type of object (e.g., select, list, Dropdown)
<VisibleText> (Optional)
Enter the visible text on the object
<Index> (Required)
Provide the index of the object inside the page (starting from 0)
<abs>
(Optional)
If the abs is provided, the action is performed with absolute identification using the absolute X path
Note: If the abs argument is specified, then the action will be executed with absolute performance based on the given visible text.
To skip an optional input value, use an extra semicolon (;).
Output Value
<Dynamic Variable> (Required)
This dynamic variable holds the selected value from the dropdown or list
<Dynamic Variable> (Optional)
This dynamic variable stores the result of the verification as True or False
Example
Retrieves the currently selected option from the specified dropdown field
The Get Selected Value from Dropdown action takes the value from the Input Value column (e.g., select;;0) and fetches the selected item from the given dropdown list. The result of the selection retrieval is stored in the {Selected} variable, while the execution status is stored in the {Status} variable, with the following possible values:
True – if the selected value is retrieved successfully.
False – if retrieval fails
