Create File

Create File action in the Avo Assure is found under the @Generic Element is used to create a new file at the specified location, using the provided name and file type, store the result in an output variable.

Syntax

Input Value: <file_path>;<File_name.extn>

Argument
Description

<file_path>

(Required)

Specify the file location where the user wants to create file.

<file_name.extn> (Required)

Define the appropriate file name. Note: supported file formats are .txt. .xlsx, .xls, .pdf, .gif, .doc, .xml

This variable stores the status as true or false

Example

Create a new file at the specified location The Create File action creates a new file with the specified name and extension at the provided file path (e.g., C:\sam;Report.txt). If a file with the same name already exists, it will not be overwritten. The action status is saved in the {Status} variable with the following possible values:

  • True if the file is created successfully

  • False – if the file creation fails or the file already exists
