Delete Text

This is a pre-built Action located under the Custom element. The functionality of this action in Avo Assure to delete the text from the textbox specified in the input value, and save the result in dynamic variable.

Syntax

Input Value:<ObjectType>;<VisibleText(optional)>;<Index>;<abs(optional)>

Argument	Description
<ObjectType> (Required)	Specify the type of object (e.g., textbox)
<VisibleText> (Optional)	Enter the visible text on the object
<Index> (Required)	Provide the position of the element, which helps to identify the value based on the sequence in list . (starting from 0)​
<abs> (Optional)	If the abs is provided, the action is performed with absolute identification using the absolute X path

Note: To skip an optional input value, use an extra semicolon (;).

Output Value

Argument	Description
<Dynamic Variable>(Optional);<Dynamic Variable>(Optional)	This dynamic variable stores the result of the operation as True or False

Example

Performs deletion of text from the specified input field on the application under test

The Delete Text action takes the value from the Input Value column (e.g., textbox;;1) and clears the text present in the defined object. The result of the delete operation is stored in the {DeleteText} variable, with the following possible values:

• True – if the text is deleted successfully.

• False – if deletion fails
