Example: Retrieving the HTML Tag Value of a Captured Element

In this example, we are explaining how to fetch the HTML tag name of a captured UI element within the application.

  • Action: Get Element Tag Value

  • Input Value: N/A

  • This action does not require any input value. It identifies the tag type (e.g., input, div, button) of the captured element.

  • Output Value: {tagName}

    • The extracted tag value (input) is stored in the {tagName} dynamic variable.

    • If a second output variable is defined, it stores the action status with the following possible values:

      • True: If the tag name is retrieved successfully.

      • False: If the tag name is not retrieved.

  • Logical Explanation: The Get Element Tag Value action retrieves the tag information of the captured UI element without requiring any input value. The action inspects the element in the application, extracts its HTML tag (input), and stores it in the {tagName} variable.
