Drop Object

This is a pre-built Action located under the captured element. The functionality of this action in Avo Assure is to drop the specified captured element at the target location within the application. The result is stored in the given dynamic variable for further use during test execution.

Note: To perform a drop action, a Drag Object action must be executed first. Without the drag action, the drop cannot be completed.

Syntax

Input Value: <time in sec>(Optional)

Argument
Description

<time in sec> (Optional)

Defines the wait time (in seconds) before performing the drop action.

Output Value: <Dynamic Variable>(Optional);<Dynamic Variable>(Optional)

Argument
Description

<Dynamic Variable>(Optional);<Dynamic Variable>(Optional)

Both dynamic variable stores the status as True or False.

Example: Performing a Drop Action on a Target Location

In this example, we are explaining how to drop a previously dragged object onto a designated target within the application.

  • Action: Drop Object

  • Input Value: 3

    • The action accepts an optional input value (3). Which specifies the number of seconds to wait before performing the drop operation. After the wait time completes, the action drops the dragged object onto the defined target location.

  • Output Value: {Status}

    • The drop action result is stored in the {Status} dynamic variable with the following possible values:

      • True: If the action successfully drops the object onto the target location.

      • False: If the action does not drop the object onto the target location.

  • Logical Explanation: The Drop Object action reads wait time from the Input Value column (3). After completing the wait period, the action identifies the target location in the application under test and performs the drop operation for the object previously dragged. The execution result (True) is stored in the {Status} variable.
