Assign a Test case

Why was this developed?

The Test Case Assignment feature was developed to simplify the process of assigning test cases to team members directly from the Test Case screen. This functionality ensures clear ownership of test cases, promotes comprehensive test coverage, and enhances the efficiency of testing activities. This feature was developed to prevent conflicts arising from multiple users working on the same test case simultaneously. By assigning a test case to a specific user, it ensures that only the assigned user can edit it, while others can access it in read-only mode.

What is the goal?

The goal of developing the Test Case Assignment feature is to ensure clear accountability and streamline the allocation of test cases to team members. This feature aims to improve collaboration, enhance test coverage, and optimize the execution of testing activities, ultimately leading to faster identification and resolution of issues while maintaining an organized testing process.

How does this work?

1. The user has to navigate to the Avo Assure Landing Page.

2. The user has to select the project from the Projects list.

3. The user has to click Design Studio button from the top right corner of landing page, then click Test case tab to bring up Test case window.

4. To assign the required Test case, the user must select the required Test case from the Test Cases list

Note: The Assign Test case feature is accessible only for the 'Quality Manager Role.'

5. The user has to click on the three dots icon to get the context menu.

6. To assign a test case, the user has to click the Assign Test Cases button, and the Assign Test case window will be displayed.

7. The Quality Manager should select the user from dropdown to assign the test case and then click the Assign button.

8. After assigning a test case to a user, the test case will appear locked. When you hover the mouse over it, a message will displayed as "This test case is assigned to [User's Name].”

Note: this is how the test case screen looks like when it is locked.
