Get Text From Object

This is a pre-built Action located under the captured table element. The functionality of this Action in Avo Assure is to fetch the text from the specified table cell based on the input provided. The result is stored in the given dynamic variable for further use during test execution.

Syntax

Input Value: <Row>;<Col>;<Object Type>;<Index>

Argument	Description
<Row> (Required)	Provide the row number of the specified table cell.
<Col> (Required)	Provide the column number of the specified table cell.
<Object Type> (Required)	Provide the type of object within the input value field.
<Index> (Required)	Provide the element index of the object within the input value field.

Output Value: <Dynamic Variable>(Optional);<Dynamic Variable>(Optional)

Argument	Description
<Dynamic Variable> (Optional)	This dynamic variable stores the fetched value from the table cell.
<Dynamic Variable> (Optional)	This dynamic variable stores the status as True or False.

Example: Retrieving Text from a Specific Object Inside a Table Cell

In this example, we explain how to fetch the value from a textbox located within a specific cell of a captured table.

• Action: Get Text From Object

• Input Value: 2;2;input;1

  • The first argument (2) specifies the row number.

  • The second argument (2) specifies the column number.

  • The third argument (input) specifies the type of object present inside the cell.

  • The fourth argument (1) specifies the index of the object if multiple objects exist.

• Output Value: {Cell Data}

  • The retrieved text value from the textbox (Pending) is stored in the {Cell Data} dynamic variable.

  • If a second output variable is provided, the action returns the status as True or False:

    • True: If the text is retrieved successfully.

    • False: If the text is not retrieved successfully.

• Logical Explanation: The Get Text From Object action reads the details from the Input Value column (2;2;input;1). It identifies the table cell located at row 2 and column 2, locates the textbox object inside the cell, and retrieves the text value stored in it. The extracted text (Pending) is saved in the {Cell Data} variable.
