# getLinkText

This is a pre-built Action located under the captured link element. The functionality of this Action in Avo Assure is to fetch the text of the specified link element within the application. The result is stored in a dynamic variable for further use during test execution.

### **Example: Retrieving the Visible Text of a link**

In this example, we explain how to use the **getLinkText** action to fetch the visible text associated with a link element on a web page.

* **Action**: getLinkText
* **Input Value**: N/A
  * This action does not require any input value. It identifies the captured link element and retrieves its visible text content.
* **Output Value**: {getlink}
  * The retrieved text from link (e.g., Don’t have an account? Create new account) stores in this **{getlink}** dynamic variable.
  * If a second output variable is provided, the action returns the status as **True** or **False**:
    * **True**: If the hyperlink text is retrieved successfully.
    * **False**: If the hyperlink text is not retrieved successfully.
* **Logical Explanation**: The **getLinkText** action does not require any input value. It retrieves the visible text from the specified hyperlink element. The retrieved result (Don’t have an account? Create new account) is stored in the **{getlink}** variable.
