# Scroll Vertically

This is a pre-built Action located under the captured grid element. The functionality of this action in Avo Assure is to perform a vertical scroll operation on the scrollable section of the grid based on the input provided. The result is stored in the given dynamic variable for further use during test execution.

## Syntax

**Input Value**: `<Direction>;<No.of Scrolls>`

<table><thead><tr><th>Argument</th><th>Description</th><th data-hidden></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><p>&#x3C;Direction></p><p>(Required)</p></td><td>Provide the direction (up or down) you want to scroll the grid.</td><td></td></tr><tr><td><p>&#x3C;No. of Scroll></p><p>(optional)</p></td><td>Provide the number of scroll actions you want to perform in the specified direction of the grid.</td><td></td></tr></tbody></table>

**Output Value**: `<Dynamic Variable>(Optional);<Dynamic Variable>(Optional)`

| Argument                                                    | Description                                                       |
| ----------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------- |
| \<Dynamic Variable>(Optional);\<Dynamic Variable>(Optional) | Both dynamic variable stores the status as **True** or **False**. |

### **Example: Scrolling the Grid Vertically**

In this example, we are explaining how to scroll a grid vertically in a specified direction and for a defined number of times.

* **Action**: Scroll Vertically
* **Input Value**: down;3
  * The first argument (**down**) specifies the vertical scrolling direction.
  * The second argument (**3**) specifies the number of times the scroll action should be performed.
* **Output Value**: {Status}
  * The scrolling result is stored in the **{Status}** dynamic variable, with the following possible values:
    * **True**: If the scrolling is performed successfully.
    * **False**: If the scrolling is not performed successfully.
* **Logical Explanation**: The **Scroll Vertically** action reads the details from the **Input Value** column (**down;3**). It identifies the scroll direction down and the number of scroll repetitions 3 and performs vertical scrolling on the captured grid accordingly. The outcome of this operation (**True**) is stored in the **{Status}** variable.
