# Get Browser Name

This is a pre-built Action located under the **@Browser Element**. The functionality of this Action in Avo Assure is to retrieve the name of the browser used during debugging or execution. The result of this Action is stored in a dynamic variable for further use during test execution.

## Syntax

**Input Value**: `N/A`&#x20;

<table><thead><tr><th>Argument</th><th>Description</th><th data-hidden></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>N/A</td><td>Not Applicable</td><td></td></tr></tbody></table>

**Output Value**: `<Dynamic Variable>;<Dynamic Variable>(Optional)`

<table><thead><tr><th>Argument</th><th>Description</th><th data-hidden></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><p>&#x3C;Dynamic Variable></p><p>(Required)</p></td><td>This dynamic variable stores the retrieved browser name.</td><td></td></tr><tr><td><p>&#x3C;Dynamic Variable></p><p>(Optional)</p></td><td>This dynamic variable stores the status as <strong>True</strong> or <strong>False</strong>.</td><td></td></tr></tbody></table>

### Example: Retrieving the Name of the Currently Running Browser

In this example, we explain how to retrieve the name of the browser currently used during execution using the **Get Browser Name** action.

**Action**: Get Browser Name

* **Input Value**: N/A
  * The **Get Browser Name** action does not require any input value. It fetches the name of the browser is used at runtime (e.g., Chrome).
* **Output Value**: {Name}
  * The retrieved browser name (e.g., Chrome) is stores in this **{Name}** dynamic variable
  * If a second output variable is provided, the action returns the status as True/False:
    * **True**: If the browser name retrieved successfully.
    * **False**: If the browser name is not retrieved successfully.
* **Logical Explanation**: The **Get Browser Name** action executes without any input value and identifies the browser is used during test execution. The retrieved browser name is stored in the **{Name}** variable (e.g., Chrome).
