# Set operation

This is a pre-built Action located under the **WebService List Element**. The functionality of this Action in Avo Assure is to set the operation for the web service execution.

## **Syntax**

**Input Value**: `<operation_name>`

| Argument                                | Description                                                        |
| --------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------ |
|
\<operation\_name>
(Required)
| Provide the name of the web service operation you want to execute. |

**Output Value**: N/A

| Argument | Description    |
| -------- | -------------- |
| N/A      | Not Applicable |

### **Example: Setting an Operation Name for a Web Service Request**

In this example, we are explaining how to set the operation name to ChangeSizeProduct for a web service request during API testing.

* **Action**: Set operation
* **Input Value**: ChangeSizeProduct
  * The input value (**ChangeSizeProduct**) specifies the operation name that should be applied to the web service request. The action configures the web service to use this operation for subsequent API execution.
* **Output Value**: N/A
* **Logical Explanation**: The **Set operation** action reads the value from the **Input Value** column (**ChangeSizeProduct**) and applies it as the operation name for the web service call.
