# Send function keys

This is a pre-built action located under the **Mainframe List Element**. The functionality of this action in Avo Assure is to send value to the mainframe.

### Syntax

**Input Value:** `<Function key>;<Number>`

| Argument                                 | Description                                                                                                             |
| ---------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| <p>\<Function keys></p><p>(Required)</p> | Specifies the function key to be performed. Examples include Tab, Enter, Page Down, etc                                 |
| <p>\<Number></p><p>(Required)</p>        | <p>Specify the numbers to how many times the function key should be performed.</p><p>Defaults to 1 if not provided.</p> |

**Output Value:**

| \<Dynamic Variable>(Optional);\<Dynamic Variable>(Optional) | This dynamic variable holds the result as **True** or **False** |

**Example**

**Performs function key execution on the mainframe screen**\
The **Send function keys** action takes the value from the Input Value column (e.g.,**Tab;2**) and sends the specified function key to the emulator screen.
