# Delete Constant Variable

This is a pre-built Action located under the **@Generic Element**. The functionality of this Action in Avo Assure is to delete an existing constant variable. The execution result is stored in the dynamic variable.

## &#x20;**Syntax**

&#x20;**Input Value**: `<variable>`&#x20;

| Argument                            | Description                                                   |
| ----------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------- |
| <p>\<variable></p><p>(Required)</p> | Provide the name of the constant variable you want to delete. |

&#x20;**Output Value**: `<Dynamic Variable>(Optional);<Dynamic Variable>(Optional)`

| Argument                                                    | Description                                                       |
| ----------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------- |
| \<Dynamic Variable>(Optional);\<Dynamic Variable>(Optional) | Both dynamic variables store the status as **True** or **False**. |

### **Example:** Deleting a Constant Variable

In this example, we explain how to remove a constant variable from memory during execution.

* **Action**: Delete Constant Variable
* **Input Value**: \_AppURL\_
  * The argument (**\_AppURL\_**) specifies the constant variable that needs to be deleted from memory.
* **Output Value**: {Status}
  * The action status is stored in this dynamic variable with the following possible values:
    * **True**: If the constant variable is successfully deleted.
    * **False**: If the deletion fails because the variable does not exist or is invalid.
* **Logical Explanation**: The **Delete Constant Variable** action takes the value from the **Input Value** column (**\_AppURL\_**) and removes the constant variable (\_AppURL\_) from memory. The variable is no longer available for reference in the test flow. The action then stores the execution result (True) in the **{Status}** variable.

# Agent Instructions: Querying This Documentation

If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.avoautomation.com/avo-assure/actions/generic/variable-operations/delete-constant-variable.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
