# Get Text IRIS

This is a pre-built action which comes under the element captured from the Desktop AUT using IRIS method. It instructs the Avo Assure Client to get text from the IRIS object and save the result in the output variable. &#x20;

### **Scenario:** Retrieve and Validate Welcome Message in Project Management Desktop Application.&#x20;

Consider a scenario where a desktop application for a project management tool is being automated. After logging in, a **Welcome Message** appears on the dashboard, displaying a personalized greeting with the user's name (e.g., **Welcome, John**!). Using the **Get Text IRIS** action, the text of the welcome message is retrieved to ensure it is displayed correctly.&#x20;

### **Expected Result**

This action needs to get text from IRIS and save the result in output variable {Text IRIS}. &#x20;

### **Output**

The action **Get Text IRIS** performed, and output variable {Text IRIS} store as ‘Welcome John!’.&#x20;
