# Get element text

This is a pre-built action available under the **Captured Element** from the **Desktop Application**. The functionality of this action in Avo Assure is to fetch the text of the element captured from the Application Under Test (AUT) and save the result in dynamic variable.

### Syntax

**Input Value:** `N/A`&#x20;

| Argument | Description    |
| -------- | -------------- |
| N/A      | Not Applicable |

**Output Value:**

<table><thead><tr><th valign="top">Argument </th><th valign="top">Description </th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td valign="top"><p>&#x3C;Dynamic Variable></p><p>(Required)</p></td><td valign="top">This variable holds the extracted element text from element.</td></tr><tr><td valign="top"><p>&#x3C;Dynamic Variable></p><p>(Optional)</p></td><td valign="top">This dynamic variable holds the status of the action as <strong>True</strong> or <strong>False</strong>.</td></tr></tbody></table>

**Example**

**Fetches the visible text from the captured element on the application screen.**

The **Get element text** action does not take any value in the Input Value column. It retrieves the text content from the target element. The fetched text **(e.g., Avo Bank - Log In)** is stored in the **{Get Text}** variable
